News: Swiss chocolatier Lindt & Sprüngli has accelerated its retail expansion in Malaysia, opening two new chocolate shops in Kuala Lumpur in less than two weeks. The latest outlet is located at Mid Valley Megamall, following the opening of its second Kuala Lumpur store at Merdeka 118 Mall. The two openings bring Lindt’s total number of chocolate shops in Malaysia to three.
The Mid Valley store offers customers a range of chocolate experiences, including LINDOR Pick & Mix, where shoppers can create their own selection of chocolate truffles, as well as gelato and gifting options. Located at G.013A, the shop is open daily from 10am to 10pm.
Context:
Strengthening Its Premium Positioning: Lindt already has an established presence in Malaysia’s premium chocolate market, primarily through supermarket distribution. Its growing direct-to-consumer (DTC) retail presence could further strengthen its brand positioning and consumer engagement.
Rapid Retail Expansion: Lindt opened its first Malaysian store at The Exchange TRX just last month. The opening of two additional outlets in less than two weeks signals strong momentum in the chocolatier’s retail expansion in the country.
Global Retail Expansion: Lindt has also been aggressively expanding its retail footprint internationally. Store openings and expansion plans this year include a new outlet on Corso Buenos Aires in Italy (its 42nd store in the country), a new store in Milton Keynes in the UK and Glasgow in Scotland, its first store in Delhi, India, and a planned outlet in Christchurch, New Zealand.
