News: Lindt has opened its first Southeast Asian store in Malaysia at The Exchange TRX, marking the Swiss chocolatier’s entry into the country’s retail market. The opening introduces Malaysian shoppers to Lindt’s retail experience, with the brand offering special promotions to celebrate the milestone.
To mark the launch, customers purchasing any Crema Gelata on 16 October will receive a complimentary white chocolate Crema Gelata. Context:
Lindt Already Has An Established Presence In Malaysia: Despite opening its first physical store in Malaysia, Lindt is already a major player in the country’s dark chocolate and premium chocolate segments by market share. This gives the brand established consumer awareness and an existing customer base to draw on as it expands its retail presence locally.
Lindt Continues Rapid Expansion Of Global Footprint: Lindt has been actively expanding its store network worldwide this year, with new openings and planned launches across multiple markets. In addition to their new store in Malaysia at The Exchange TRX, Lindt opened their first store in Delhi, alongside a new outlet in Milton Keynes, UK, and its 42nd store in Italy on Corso Buenos Aires. The company is also planning a new store in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Lindt Lowers Sales Growth Outlook Amid Weaker Demand: Despite its ongoing retail expansion, Lindt & Sprüngli downgraded its full-year 2026 organic sales growth forecast on 0–2%, from 4–6% previously, citing weaker demand in key European markets following substantial price increases driven by high cocoa costs. An unprecedented European heatwave also weighed on seasonal chocolate sales. The company maintained its guidance for 20–40 basis points of EBIT margin improvement and expects to return to positive volume growth in 2027.
