News: Swiss chocolatier Lindt & Sprüngli is expanding its ‘Flavours of the World. Created by Lindt’ series with a Bali-inspired chocolate featuring ube, cashew and coconut filling, caramel pieces and vanilla, coated in milk chocolate. The new expression draws on Southeast Asian flavours, with ube sourced from Indonesia, and follows the earlier Dubai Style and Tokyo Style releases.
Lindt Bali Style Chocolate will debut at Zurich Airport in October before rolling out to selected global travel retail locations from November. Available exclusively through global travel retail and Lindt retail stores until year-end, the launch adds another destination-inspired offering to the premium confectionery category.
Context:
Swiss Market Leader: Lindt & Sprüngli is a leading player in Switzerland’s chocolate confectionery market and a major force in the global premium chocolate segment, supported by its strong brand equity and premium positioning.
Strong Innovation: The company has maintained an active product launch cadence, building on the highly successful Dubai Style Chocolate, featuring pistachio and kadayif, with Tokyo Style Chocolate, which combines strawberry and matcha flavours. The latest Bali-inspired expression continues this strategy of using distinctive, destination-inspired flavours to generate consumer interest.
Challenging Market Conditions: Market conditions have become more challenging in 2026. Lindt lowered its full-year organic sales growth guidance from 4–6% to 0–2% in September, citing heightened price sensitivity and weaker-than-expected seasonal orders in parts of Europe. Substantial price increases driven by elevated cocoa costs and an unprecedented European heatwave also weighed on seasonal chocolate sales.
